LLD has grown out of a business which started through supplying milk to homes in Broughty Ferry, Dundee. As the milk industry matured, the business became involved in processing milk; manufacturing milk products;
and operating large retail and wholesale networks. In the 1990s, with changing
consumer requirements, the business began to be involved in chilled distribution, sometimes of non-dairy products. This led to providing third party distribution services for businesses throughout the UK.
